The article that I’m writing about this week is called “Facebook Glitch Brings New Privacy Worries.” This article is about the recent problem that Facebook has been having. As you know, Facebook is one of the most popular social networks to date. I personally do not use Facebook. I made one but never logged in again. If I did use it I would be highly upset about my privacy being shared with unwanted visitors. If you own a social network, privacy should be first and it should be made sure that it never fails. Users were given the opportunity to read or access personal information of others. According to article, the problem was removed quickly. A lot of people feel they cannot give the network trust because of their privacy. A quote that I stole from the article was “Facebook has become more scary than fun.” It is scary to have your personal information out there. The same user also stated, “Every week there seems to be a new privacy update or change, and I just can’t keep up with it.” With that being said, who wants to keep doing the same annoying things over and over again. He decided to delete his account!More than 400 million people use Facebook. That’s more than 400 million people trusting that their information is secure and safe. At this link you can ask questions about Facebook Privacy, http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/05/06/ask-facebook-your-privacy-questions/. So many people sign up for Facebook because only their friends, family and select people can view their pictures and information. With security problems like this, it changed people’s opinions and thoughts about the site. I think if people weren’t so immune to this site, a lot would quite. Since it’s so popular and apart of millions of daily lives, they keep it because it’s simply addictive and problems are out looked by the good of the site!
